Biographical Info

Oh, HEY now.

So, you've figured out by now that I'm a guitar player. What you may or may not know is whether I'm any good! I've been playing for about 23 years now, so hopefully I'm getting the hang of it.

I've been through several phases during that time. I've been the Eddie Van Halen/Joe Satriani rock-shredder worshipper during the first ten years or so of my guitar playing; I've been the "jazz-is-the-only-real-kind-of-music" snob during the time that I was earning my Bachelor of Music degree at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky; I've been the pop/country 3- 4- 5- 6-night a week house gig mega-partyer, also during my time in Kentucky; I've been the cruise-ship pit orchestra revue-show chart-reading sneak to the crew bar between shows just to keep it interesting player; the tux-wearing, hired-gun jobbing guy during my first few years in Chicago; and the opposite, tunnel-visioned "all for one band!" fanatic as well.

After all of this, I hope I am truly the combination of all those things: an experienced, tasteful, stylistic musician and writer who has struck the balance between the benefit of formal music education and the absolute necessity of raw musical emotion and energy. This is my personal musical philosophy and what I strive to be.
